Get FAFSA help, chance for scholarship at College Goal Wisconsin events
Since 2006, over 24,500 Wisconsin students have received free help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at College Goal Wisconsin events held throughout the state.
This year, 45 College Goal Wisconsin events will take place between October 3 and November 6. Dates, locations, starting time, a list of what to bring, and other information can be found by visiting the College Goal Wisconsin website at www.collegegoalwi.org.
Anyone who is planning to pursue a post-secondary education in the 2020-21 academic year should complete the FAFSA. That includes high school seniors, continuing college students, transfer students, and adult students considering pursuing higher education.
Financial aid professionals and other educators volunteer at the events to help students and their families complete the FAFSA.
The FAFSA is the form that must be submitted in order to be considered for federal and state financial aid, including grants and loans. Students pursuing a post-secondary education in 2020-21 can complete the FAFSA beginning October 1.
In addition to getting professional help completing the FAFSA, attendees will have the opportunity to enter a scholarship drawing. The scholarship can be used at any private or public accredited college/university in the United States. The winner must be attending college in the fall of 2020 as a full-time undergraduate student.
