The Achieve Center Announces New Childcare Program

The Achieve Center is excited to announce a new program, Treatment Focused Childcare, scheduled to be launched in spring 2022. The program offers an opportunity for children with challenges to excel in a nurturing and therapeutic environment which encourages them to grow by focusing on their strengths and abilities to achieve what otherwise may have been beyond their grasp.

Treatment Focused Childcare is a unique program which cannot be found anywhere else in Wisconsin. Now accepting reservations, the program provides the inclusive intensive therapies children with complex needs require. It allows parents to maintain employment knowing their children’s needs are being met.

 “Treatment Focused Childcare integrates intensive prescribed therapies with childcare and early childhood education throughout the child’s day.” said Carol Wesley, Executive Director and Pediatric Developmental Specialist at the Achieve Center. “This childcare method has been developed to optimize each child’s strengths and abilities and will assist children to accomplish all that is possible in an environment where they can achieve.”

The program provides a high level of affordable licensed therapeutic childcare including:

• Speech and language therapy
• Physical therapy
• Occupational therapy
• Behavioral therapy
• Feeding therapy
• Music therapy
• On-site nurse
• Licensed special education early childhood teacher
• Childcare teachers and therapy assistants

 
The Achieve Center Treatment Focused Childcare program will provide care for children ages 20 months through 4 years. Children will receive the treatments they need from licensed clinicians with specific goals and bench marks determined especially to meet their needs.  

Under the supervision of the licensed clinicians, therapy assistants will integrate exercises and skill training across the span of the children’s daily activities. A licensed teacher will supervise educational programming, social activities and the general care of the children while a registered nurse will oversee the children’s health and provide appropriate medical care.

Additionally, parents will receive weekly individualized training from clinicians providing parents with advanced skills necessary for care at home. Monthly parent support groups will also be offered. Through technology, parents will be able to remotely view their children during their day.

Treatment Focused childcare is designed to be affordable and financially sustainable through the distribution of costs over multiple sources, including health insurance, Medicaid, state and federal programs and private fees.
