Teach them to ride and see where they will go!
We understand that the vast majority of people with disabilities never have the experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle during their lifetime. Research shows that over 80% of people with Autism and 90% of people with Down syndrome never experience this thrill. Defying these odds is why we exist! Riders attend one 75 minute session each day for five consecutive days where they learn to ride while accompanied and encouraged by volunteer “spotters”. Over the course of the week we continually adjust the bikes’ stability in an effort to challenge riders’ balance as they gradually discover the skill and joy of riding. Dates: Monday, June 21st - June 25th Location: Marathon Park Municipal Building #2 |
